Dr. Homeira Ekhtari is a Business Model Developer for Sustainability and a college professor in Canadian Colleges with 22 years of experience in sustainability, Environmental Social, Governance (ESG) monitoring, and policy analysis & development. She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Planning and Management from Iran and a Ph.D. degree from Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada focused on developing business models for sustainability.
Her professional experience in the Environmental Social, Governance (ESG) materiality and reporting systems is a result of years of collaborating with various international and national programs. She has led multiple environmental programs and projects including but not limited to the Comprehensive Environmental Management Plan for Medical Waste, UN-Basel Convention Implementation Plan on Hazardous Waste Transboundary Movements in Iran. As an expert member of the UNEP working groups, she has collaborated with/in the program effectiveness evaluation of the UN- Stockholm Convention, the National Climate Change Committee, the World Bank’s water resources management team and the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands-Advisory Committee during 2002-2012.
Dr. Ekhtari collaborates with companies to prepare and present their sustainability strategy and enhance their organizational performance through sustainability and ESG reporting system implementation.
